'Two Artists' Leigh-on-sea Exhibition a Resounding Success at the Living Room!

March 4, 2025

What a fantastic weekend at Two Artists at the Living Room in Leigh-on-sea! The exhibition drew a steady flow of art lovers who enjoyed the wonderful atmosphere and took in the stunning collection of artwork. Many pieces found new homes across the area, making it a truly successful event.

“We are absolutely thrilled with the response,” said artist Teresa Barbary. “It was so special to see people connecting with our work and choosing pieces to take home.” Ruth Rotherham added, “The support was amazing, and knowing that part of each sale is helping Phablife makes it even more rewarding.”

Ruth Rotherham is a well-established Leigh Art Trail artist known for her accomplished work, while Teresa Barbary’s artistic journey began when she started attending Room for Art, a welcoming creative space held every Wednesday morning in the Living Room. Over time, Teresa Barbary has developed a vibrant and distinctive style, earning admiration for her colourful still-life paintings.

Trevor Imbush, volunteer leader of Room for Art, has been a strong advocate for Teresa’s work. In recognition of her talent, some of her paintings were also displayed at the neighbouring and adjoining ‘The Phabulous Café’ over this past weekend. Meanwhile, Ruth Rotherham created a stunning collection of new works specifically for the occasion.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to Leigh Road Baptist Church for offering the Living Room as a space to showcase our work. The Room for Art drop-in, which Teresa attends weekly on Wednesdays, is a fantastic creative space open to all—so we encourage anyone interested in art to check it out!

A huge thank you to everyone who visited, shared kind words, and supported our work. Your encouragement and enthusiasm meant the world to us. And, of course, a big shout-out to The Phabulous Café next door and Phablife for all the brilliant work they do!
