5th Southend Film festival

April 26, 2013

Given their focus on new British independent films being able to screen Borrowed Time, a heart-warming drama, as their red-carpet Opening Gala film on Thursday 2nd May. NFA (‘No Fixed Abode’), which takes a thoughtful look at homelessness and mental health, will be the Closing Gala on May 6th. In between the festival will be presenting the usual wide range of films, from thrillers, family comedies and classics to World Cinema and documentaries, with plenty of guests and filmmakers in attendance to introduce their films. There’s also an extensive ‘fringe’ festival stretching for a week or so either side of the main event.
