Apply Now For September 2017 Secondary School Places

Local parents and carers can apply now for secondary school places for September 2017.

Applications must be made by the end of Monday 31st October (11.59pm) for a Year 7 secondary school place.

Applications can be made via www.southend.gov.uk/admissions

The website also enables parents to search for school information and check admissions criteria. Applications can also be submitted in paper copy and are available at the Customer Services Centre, Civic Centre, Victoria Avenue.

Executive Councillor for Children and Learning, Cllr James Courtenay, says:

“Choosing the right secondary school for a child to help them thrive, learn, succeed and achieve their goals is a major decision, and we try to make things as simple as possible via our website.

“We provide as much information as possible for people to make an informed choice and whilst the majority of people will have already made that choice, there will be others still deciding. It is vital to apply on time and follow all of the detailed guidance that we issue.”

For the September 2016 round of admissions, 86% of primary and 88% of secondary applications were made using our quick and easy online facility.
