Bayo Alaba MP praises Southend's The One Love Project in the House of Commons

January 20, 2025

Bayo Alaba praises the work of The One Love Project in the House of Commons.

Since being elected as Labour MP for Southend East and Rochford last year, Bayo and his team have spent a lot of time getting to know the local community, including visiting The One Love Project site in Carnarvon Road, Southend-on-sea a couple of times and witnessing their work first hand.

His speech in Westminster demonstrated the work of the charity; including evening meal services, a Food Bank and additional on-site facilities for those experiencing homelessness and struggling with the cost of living. Bayo invited Leader of the House of Commons, Lucy Powell MP, to visit and see the wonderful work of their team.

Community is at the heart of everything The One Love Project does, and the support of local businesses and organisations is having a profound effect on the work they deliver. Current donors and supporters include Hollybrook Homes, Prep Kitchen, Fuel Prep, Two Tree Gallery, J. Buckland, schools in Rayleigh and Rochford, Mecca Bingo Southend and many more.
