Campaign To Bring Airshow Back

Seafront traders are backing a campaign that has been launched to bring back the Southend Airshow next year. The campaign is being led by John Delaney and Tom Curtis, who aim to raise more than £100,000 by Christmas, which would allow them to organise a new airshow they plan to hold in September 2014. The airshow was cancelled this year as part of the cutbacks forced on Southend Council. When Mr Delaney heard the news, he was devastated and set up a Facebook campaign. When he found out that Mr Curtis had done the same thing, the two decided to collaborate to see if they could revive the airshow for next year. The traders are backing his campaign, particularly the September date.
