Charity Christmas Tree Collection Service Returns to Support Havens Hospices

December 5, 2024

Havens Hospices is welcoming back its Christmas tree collection fundraiser in the New Year to help raise vital funds towards its specialist hospice care.

The collection service will pick up real Christmas trees from households in return ‘fir’ a minimum donation of £7 on Friday 10th, Saturday 11th and Monday 13th January 2025.

This year’s scheme will collect from the following postcodes across South East Essex: including SS0, SS1, SS2, SS3, SS4, SS5, SS6, SS7, SS8 and SS9.

The proceeds raised will help to fund the charity’s specialist care and support for local babies, children, and adults living with incurable conditions and their families.

This year’s collections are kindly being sponsored by local tool company ITS, and all trees will be turned into wood chippings by Essex Tree Services for free and reused in the gardens at Fair Havens and Little Havens hospices.

Lucy Lock, Community Engagement Manager at Havens Hospices said: “This is the fifth year we have run our Christmas Tree Collection Service, and the fundraiser has raised more than £22,000 towards local hospice care.

“This wouldn’t have been possible without the incredible support of our generous communities, and we want to carry on this momentum and make this year our biggest fundraiser to date.

“Avoid the hassle of taking your tree to the local recycling centre and consider booking a collection service with us. Not only will we recycle the tree into chippings and use them in our hospice grounds, but your donation will also go a long way to supporting local families who need the care of Havens Hospices.”

Havens Hospices is looking for volunteers with vans who can kindly offer their time to collect trees. If you can help, please contact the Fundraising Team at Havens Hospices by emailing FRadmin@havenshospices.org.uk

To book a collection service, visit www.havenshospices.org.uk/christmastree before Monday 6th January 2025.
