Children’s Hospice is hosting Family Fun Day for local community
Essex’s only children’s hospice is inviting the local community to join them for a Family Fun Day in June.
On Sunday 23rd June, Little Havens Hospice in Thundersley is opening their doors to the families they care for, neighbours and the local community between 11am and 3pm for a Family Fun Day.
The gardens will be open, families can bring picnics with them or treat themselves as there will be plenty of food and drink to enjoy while being entertained by local musicians, dance troupes and entertainers including The Thundersley Village Superheroes, Kryptic Dance, Amelia Lucus and Hand4Voices.
The charity is also teaming up with plenty of local companies who will be holding a variety of activities from crafts with Create98 to go-karting with Karty Party and Shetland Pony Rides with The Ramblers Riding Club. Adults will also get a chance to relax with free massages being offered by the charity’s Complementary Therapy Team and Pimms, Prosecco and Peroni supplied by Fluid Events.
Visitors will also be able to find out more about the only place in Essex wholly dedicated to looking after youngsters with life-limiting illnesses by taking a tour of the hospice and grounds.
Emily Tucker, Community Engagement Events Officer explains “We are really excited to be opening the doors to Little Havens for the third year in a row, it is always such a lovely day which gives us a chance to say thank you to all our supporters. We couldn’t exist without the generosity of the local community who help us raise over £46,000 every week to run Little Havens; so, our Family Fun Day is a celebration of they kindness and a chance for them to see what it helps us achieve.”
Little Havens’ Family Fun Day on Sunday 23rd June is free to attend with stalls and activities at pocket money prices. To find out how you can join Little Havens Hospice for the day please visit www.havenshospices.org.uk/familyfunday
