DANCE AND BE GOOD TO YOUR HEART: Every Thursday evening, ballroom dancing takes place at St Peter's New Mazenod Hall, Eastwood Road North, from 8pm to 10.30pm. Newcomers and particularly single people looking for company will be made welcome with music and dancing to suit everyone.

 

DANCE AND STAY MOBILE AND WELL: The Castlle Point Intermediate Club holds an evening of dancing, every Thursday evening from 7.30pm until 10.30pm. This evening is for people who are 40 plus, at Runnymede Hall, Kiln Road, Benfleet.

 

LEIGH SCRABBLE CLUB: Members meet every Monday at Wesley Church Hall, Elm Road, Leigh. Beginners welcome. No partner needed. £3 including tea or coffee. Just turn up or phone 01268 727915.

 

BEGINNERS' LINE DANCING: To all types of music. Every Wednesday at 12.30pm to 2.30pm at St Margaret's Church Hall, Lime Avenue, Leigh.

 

DUPLICATE BRIDGE: A small friendly club holds a duplicate bridge evening on Wednesdays from 7.30pm at Highlands Methodist Church, Olive Avenue, Leigh. All welcome. For more details phone Hilary on 01702 712501.

 

TEA DANCE: New, weekly afternoon tea dance starting Wednesday 8th January. A fun, social afternoon of ballroom, Latin and sequence dancing. 2pm to 4.30pm. £4 per person, includes refreshments. Strictly over 18s. Large free car park. Richmond Hall, High Road, Benfleet.

 

CONCORD LADIES CLUB: Members meet every Wednesday at Caley Hall, Crown Hill, Rayleigh from 1.30pm to 3pm. They have a varied programme of speakers, social afternoons and some outings. New members welcome.

 

BARN DANCE WITH LIVE CALLER: The Grand Ceilidh Clubpresents live music with a caller every Wednesday (except the first in the month) at Royal Naval Association, East Street, Southend.
