Commuter attacked

A man was left with a black eye when he was confronted and then punched by a commuter for resting his feet on on the opposite seat.

Sam Holland of Leigh was travelling home from London on the 15th November last year at around 9pm when the incident took place. Mr Holland was approached by the man who ordered him to take his feet off the seat, where he pointed out that they were not actually touching the fabric of it.

Having turned to another commuter to discuss the confrontation Mr Holland suddenly felt a blow to his right eye casuing him to temporarily lose consciousness. My Holland was not left with any permanent damge from the incident.

British Transport Police investigated, but having interviewed the attacker in question and due to CCTV not working, the case was then closed. However, should any new evidence come to light it could be re-opened.
