Cllr Anne Jones, cabinet member for children and learning, said: “The younger generations are the future and we want them to be active and involved with their town, including giving them knowledge of all the opportunities and career paths available to them.
“There are many different chances for prosperity within education and employment, and an apprenticeship is the perfect mesh of the two. Learning whilst on the job and being paid can be the perfect solution, especially to those young people who prefer not to take traditional academic pathways.
“I really hope many young people come along to this event and would like to thank the council’s economic development team for their hard work and all the visiting speakers and exhibitors for their involvement.”
There are four types of apprenticeship available in England: intermediate, advanced, higher or degree apprenticeships. Each level has different entry requirements, and each apprenticeship vacancy will specify what these are, along with the qualities the employer is looking for.
The event is free however attendees are asked to pre-register at https://apprenticeshipseries.eventbrite.co.uk
