Get Musical on Half Term Monday

You can take part in Musical Monday – a day of music making for children and young people taking place on Monday 24th October, from 10am – 3pm at St Mary’s Church of England Primary School, Boston Avenue, Southend-on-Sea.

The young musicians will work in groups with experienced tutors, and will spend their day creating music, enjoying some group percussion work, and learning new music whilst making new friends. The day ends with an informal “performance” for family and friends to attend and hear what has been learnt during the day.

Ann Holland, Executive Councillor for Culture, Tourism and the Economy, says: “This is a wonderful opportunity for children to discover their musical talent and make new friends during half term.

“All ranges of musical experience are welcome, we just want people to come along and have fun. If you have an instrument then bring it, and if you don’t, some will be available on the day. Any instrument can be brought along – strings, recorders, woodwind, brass, percussion, guitars and keyboards.”
