Get quizzical this Christmas with Havens Hospices
A local hospice charity is encouraging its community to grab a mulled wine, a mince pie and get their best Christmas quiz brains at the ready to take part in their Big Christmas Virtual Quiz.
Havens Hospices will be holding its festive themed virtual quiz on Tuesday 1st December at 8pm, presented by the charity’s Patron and Radio Essex presenter Su Harrison. Entry to the quiz is a minimum donation of £5 per household.
The Big Christmas Virtual Quiz is just one of the ways people can support the charity which provides hospice care for people of all ages living with complex or incurable conditions across Essex this Christmas. The quiz is part of the charity’s ‘12 Days of Christmas’ campaign where they are calling on the local community to raise £24,000 to help fund specialist care at their hospices Fair Havens and Little Havens on Christmas Day and Boxing Day.
The charity hope its Christmas Virtual Quiz will follow the success of its first series of quizzes which were held during the first lockdown back in spring. The quiz is sure to test everyone’s Christmas knowledge, getting supporters in the festive spirit as the second national lockdown hopefully draws to a close.
Lydia Plews, Corporate Fundraiser at Havens Hospices says, “Our care doesn’t stop over the Christmas period so neither can our fundraising. If you are able to join us on 1st December for our Big Christmas Quiz we have a great evening in store for you - why not put your tree up, pull on a Christmas Jumper and grab your favourite festive tipple and test your knowledge, all whilst raising funds for our hospices at the same time.
“We don’t charge a penny for our care – and that’s only possible because of donations from people like you. Every gift, no matter how large or small, means so much to the families and patients Havens Hospices care for. £70 could provide two hours of nursing and supportive care to a patient in their own home at the end of their life.
“So if you are looking for something to do as Lockdown draws to a close why not sign up to our quiz, have lots of festive fun with your community and support your local hospice at the same time?”
