Legal Eagle Q&A

August 21, 2016 by Melinda Giles

Melinda Giles from Giles Wilson Solicitor's is back, answering your weekly legal queries!

Question: I bought a rug online; it was expensive (£895 to be precise!). It is exactly as it looked in the picture but I just don’t really like it. I was told by the supplier that I can’t get my money back because it is not faulty, is that right?

Answer: Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges)Regulations 2013, you have the right to change your mind without giving a reason provided that you do so within 14 days of receiving it. You are entitled to a full refund provided that it is in the same condition as you received it in – so no partying on it first!
