December 10, 2024

Heycroft Primary School in Eastwood, Leigh-on-sea has undergone a remarkable transformation, thanks to the support of South East Essex Academy Trust (SEEAT). The school has seen significant improvements since joining SEEAT in January 2024, in its buildings, curriculum, and teaching and learning environment, making it a shining example of what dedicated support and collaboration can achieve.

SEEAT has funded a series of much-needed upgrades to the school's facilities. These include:

New Flooring: The entire school now boasts new, durable flooring.

Interactive Whiteboards: Every classroom has been equipped with state-of-the-art interactive whiteboards, fostering a more engaging learning experience.

Fresh Paint: A fresh coat of paint throughout the school has revitalised the building, creating a more welcoming and vibrant atmosphere for the children and staff.

New Heating System: A modern heating system has been installed.

New Tables and Chairs: Children now benefit from new tables and chairs throughout the school.

With SEEAT's support, Heycroft has also made updated its curriculum and teachers have benefited from training with The SEEAT Institute and collaboration with staff from other SEEAT schools.

The impact of these improvements has been profound. The trust's school improvement adviser praised the progress, stating,

"Were I to be undertaking a traditional style HMI monitoring visit, I would have no hesitation in removing this school from a category of concern and straight to good."

With SEEAT's continued backing, the school is well on its way to providing an outstanding educational experience for all its children. The future looks bright for Heycroft.
