Historic Spanish galleon returns to Southend Pier this summer

Prepare for an exciting journey into the past as the Galeón Andalucía, a stunning replica of a 16th-18th century Spanish galleon, returns to Southend Pier from 22 to 28 August 2024.

Step aboard this impressive vessel and explore its six decks brimming with fascinating exhibits and displays. This floating museum has a huge open deck space of 320 square meters, offering plenty of things to see and do.

The Galeón Andalucía is a replica of the ships Spain used during the Age of Discovery and for trading between Spain, America, and the Philippines. These ships were part of the famous fleets of the Indies and played an important role in global maritime history.

Visitors can enjoy a self-guided walking tour, offering the freedom to wander the decks, interact with the crew members who live aboard, and explore dozens of interactive exhibits, videos, projections, and historical documents.
