Iconic record shop in Leigh-on-sea closing after 48 years of trading.

The much loved record shop Fives Records is closing its doors this Saturday 26th April at 4pm. The owners have asked if anyone has any Fives record tokens or full Loyalty cards to use them before they close.

Owners Sandra Bennett and her father Peter Driscoll made the difficult decision to close the shop due to increasing rent, falling vinyl sales and competition from online sales.

The changing face of our small high streets is being fuelled by the increasing demand of food and drink outlets. The small independent shops offering great service and products are being increasingly wiped out by online companies offering the same products at a cheaper price and often with free delivery. Thankfully those small shops do still survive in our community and we are so grateful for them and the products and services they offer, so shop locally and save our special little shops.
