Leigh Folk Festival Fund Raising Concert

August 15, 2024

Come along and help Leigh Folk Festival return in 2025 at TwentyOne, Western Esplanade, Southend-on-Sea SS1 2EH on Saturday 17th August.

Leigh Folk Festival, a beloved community event, needs your support to return in 2025! We're hosting a special fundraising event featuring three incredible acts, and we invite you to join us for an unforgettable evening of music and community spirit.

M.G. Boulter

A talented songwriter and musician from Leigh, who has been gaining a national reputation. He has also worked alongside other artists including Conor Oberst, Neil McSweeney, Duke and the King, Emily Portman, Simone Felice and Paul Heaton, with whom he graced the stage of the Royal Albert Hall a while back. His recent album ‘Clifftown’, uniquely charts the characters, personal histories and stories of growing up in English seaside suburbia, reflecting the neon lights and burnt sugar smells of a Saturday night seafront but also the solitary Essex noir of the saltmarsh.

2WaL

The latest project of the relentlessly prolific ‘musical alchemist’ Mark Schubert, a one-man army of songs. And self-styled pioneer of the ‘heavy western’ sound.

Cable Car

Silken voiced Michelle Bappoo has taken a folk turn with her latest album Cable Car. Her music has a gentle aesthetic underpinned by sue-footed song-writing.

By attending this event, you'll not only enjoy top-tier musical performances but also contribute to the revival of the Leigh Folk Festival in 2025. Together, we can bring back this cherished celebration of music, culture, and community. Don't miss out—join us and be part of something special! Get your tickets today £10 plus booking fee!
