Leigh-on-sea Parking Restrictions Coming into force

Notice is hereby given that the Southend-on-Sea City Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

The Effect of the order will be to prohibit any vehicle from:

1. Parking, stopping, waiting, loading & unloading on Broadway from its junction with Grand Drive to its junction with Leigh Road from 08:00 28th October 2024 till 17:00 on the 8th November 2024 (on both sides of Broadway)

2. Parking, stopping, waiting, loading & unloading on Leigh Road from its junction with Broadway to its junction with Chalkwell Park Drive from 08:00 11th November 2024 till 17:00 on the 22nd November 2024 (on both sides of Leigh Road)

The suspension is scheduled to commence in two phases:

Broadway from 08:00 28th October 2024 till 17:00 on the 8th November 2024

Leigh Road from 08:00 11th November 2024 till 17:00 on the 22nd November 2024 or where appropriate signs are showing and weather permitting.

The Order will come into effect on 28th October 2024 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.

The suspension is required for the safety of the public and workers whilst new connection works take place.

The prohibitions or restrictions will apply only during such time and to such extent as indicated by traffic signs prescribed by the TRAFFIC SIGNS REGULATIONS AND GENERAL DIRECTIONS 2016.

Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction/prohibition imposed by this Notice may be issued with a Penalty Charge Notice and removed under the provisions of the Traffic Management Act 2004.
