New bars and restaurants to open at Southend Airport

A number of new bars and restaurants are set to open at Southend Airport as part of the multi million pound investment announced earlier this year. 

Airport bosses have announced a new Partnership with The Restaurant Group who will spend £5 million over the next 10 years taking over the food and drink units on site. 

The Restaurant Group (TGR Concessions) are an award winning company who already operate out of a number of shopping centres and airports including Manchester, Stansted, Heathrow and Gatwick. 

As well as Giraffe and Costa, the company also affiliates with American restaurant Coast to Coast, Frankie and Benny’s and the Olive Tree cafe bar.

The current eateries on site Arnold & Forbes Cafe Kitchen and Lakers Bar & Restaurant will both close to make way for a bespoke pub named The Navigator, along with restaurant Giraffe Stop and Costa coffee outletsover the course of the coming months. 

High-end restaurant Bourgee luxe lounge will remain open.

The take over by The Restaurant Group will commence over the next month.
