New Beauty Blog: 5 Minute Makeover

September 6, 2016 by Anna Kadwill

Welcome to my weekly blogs!

My name is Anna Kadwill and I am a beauty addict/blogger from Leigh-on-Sea. I have a huge passion/knowledge of makeup, and skincare and I can't wait to share my reviews on different products, and treatments with you all. I also will share my top makeup tips and tricks that everyone can use, whether your also, like me, a makeup junkie or someone who is completely new to makeup and needs somewhere to start!

I am a qualified makeup artist, trained at a beauty academy in London, I do special occasion makeup for clients such as weddings, proms etc. Currently I am employed by Clinique, and get to share my passion for makeup and skincare with my customers on a daily basis! Ive been blogging on my own website for about a year, but now I have been given the opportunity to write for leigh-on-sea.com and do more of what I love!

To kick start my blog posts for Leigh-on-Sea.com, I thought I would show you my version of a 5 minute makeover. This look takes me minutes to do, and is my fail safe way to look presentable for work. This look could be useful for people who like me, prefer to have extra time in bed in the mornings, or for anyone who wants to learn a natural, quick makeup look that will take them virtually no time at all!

So to go from this...

To this...

Firstly, I start off with applying Nivea Mens Post Shave Balm all over my face, and I keep rubbing it until I feel it begin to become tacky. Yes you read it correctly, mens aftershave balm. I use this because one of the main ingredients in it is Glycerin. Glycerin is used in many makeup primers because makeup sticks to it, and it helps it stay on all day. This is so much cheaper than other makeup primers, with loads more product and works so much better. My friends and I all use this now, and have never looked back! (Just to reassure you, you wont smell like a man. The smell is very subtle and goes away as soon as you put other products on top!)

Then I go in with my Clinique Chubby Stick foundation. I love this because its so easy, I just draw a few stripes on my face and blend it in, for light natural coverage.

Then, I use my trusty MAC pro longwear concealer. This concealer is the only one which will completely cover my under eye circles, which are often very dark in the early mornings before work! I choose a shade which is a couple of shades lighter than my skin tone for a natural highlight.

Next I set my face with my Nars powder, I just dust it everywhere with a big fluffy brush so that my makeup is set and lasts all day.

After this, I use the blush, bronzer and highlight that are all in the Tanya Burr cosmetics palette, the palette I have is called Peachy Glow. They are all amazing quality and so affordable.

For my eyes, I just use the same bronzer I used for my face, all over my lids. This gives my eyes a bit of colour and dimension and also to make me look more awake. Follow this with a few coats of mascara, and voila – eyes done!

For lipstick, I used my Urban Decay Lipstick in Rapture. This is a sheer lipstick which means it just looks like a gloss, giving me just a natural, healthy look! Because its so sheer, you can also be fairly messy with the application, no need for a lipliner if you don't have time!

So there you have it, you're ready for the day in under 5 minutes. Look out for my blogs weekly on Leigh-on-sea.com, for everything when it comes to makeup and beauty!
