OYSTER CREEK KITCHEN REVIEW!

As I am sure most of us couldn’t have failed to notice over the past few months, the renovation work that has been underway at that old dilapidated shelter along the seafront at Westcliff. How nice to see another restaurant entrepreneur taking the plunge and investing in our wonderful seafront! 
This place looks simply awesome; the quality of the refurbishment work has been tiptop. Bare brick, rustic concrete floor, a wonderful looking bar, it appears to have everything.

WHAT MAKES A SHED WORTH £30,000?

Very fortunately, my mum has the use of a beach hut in Thorpe Bay over the summer. It is one of the smaller ones and is very tatty but we love it and have already had some great days down there. Before I had my daughter I used to scoff at some of the prices that the beach huts seemed to sell for and thought it was a bit daft that people were paying 10’s of thousands of pounds for what is basically a garden shed on stilts.

HIT THE HUT

Last week, I rented a beach hut in Thorpe Bay for a week. Considering it's less than 5 miles from my home, I couldn't have felt more like I had got away from it all. Each evening my partner and I would go straight there from work and forget about the stresses of the day. We would sit on the little deck out the front and listen to the tide coming in, watch the waves, and peek at Kent through binoculars. 
It's amazing how sitting and looking out to sea gave us a whole new perspective from the usual view we see every day from down the coast in Leigh.
