OUT

OUT

So, the dust has settled and apparently we have made a decision.

Last Thursday, just over half of us voted to leave the EU. This was against the wishes of the government, economists, business leaders, so called experts and various pollsters.

This then triggered a bit of a panic with the pound and FTSE falling sharply, the prime minister resigning, the leader of the Labour party under pressure and the the Scottish parliament calling for another referendum to leave us.

It was fascinating and spellbinding to watch on Friday morning as huge announcement after huge announcement seem to just keep coming. The only problem was that we are all involved in it so it does affect us all.

I don’t know if it is a general feeling with the public but the media are definitely depicting this as the wrong decision and that this will be a bad thing. I watched a programme last night that basically said that anyone that voted out was an idiot and ill informed.

I actually voted to remain but it was a very close thing and I think this goes for an awful lot of people on both sides. It wasn’t just the overall tally that was a close run thing, in peoples minds there was a lot of indecision. I changed my mind loads of times, with every debate I watched or everything I read.

What I believe should happen now is we should all respect the decision made, get behind it, look forward and BE POSITIVE!

It might not have been your preference, but this is where we find ourselves so in the great British tradition we have to roll up our sleeves and get on with it.

The venom and vitriol that is currently being spouted by both sides to each other is both horrible and worrying. I can’t remember a time where the country felt quite so divided.

This cannot be a good thing, we must now all work together for the best outcome and all we can do as the general public is be positive and carry on as normal.

Nothing, in the short term is going to change, it will probably be at least a couple of years until we have officially left the EU and until then we wouldn’t stop buying houses or cars or going on holiday.

Life goes on and perhaps we should look at this as an opportunity for us to promote our country and maybe, hopefully, we can do it on our own as we have taken our country back?
