Cllr Ron Woodley, cabinet member for transport, capital and inward investment, said: “Improving our highways is a real focus for the administration and something that I am very passionate about improving across the borough.
“Whilst major junction improvements are vital to improving access into the town, resurfacing and patching works are equally important to residents who are using these roads each and every day.
“We will attempt to minimise disruption when the works take place, but I’m sure local residents and drivers will welcome this investment into local roads.”
All road closures will be clearly signposted two weeks prior to the works taking place and all works are dependent on the weather, as crews are not able to lay roads in inclement weather.
How to report a defect
If you are aware of any road defects or roads that need resurfacing or patch work, please report these online via MySouthend.
How we prioritise repair and resurfacing works
Using a technical approach, we use various internal digital surveys to analyse our data on the present condition of the road and also investigate each site visually. From this information we are able to prioritise which roads need to be repaired first.
