RYLAN TO HEADLINE THE CLIFFS PAVILION PANTOMIME JACK AND THE BEANSTALK
Southend Theatres and pantomime producer Crossroads Pantomimes have today [Tuesday 27 February 2024] announced that Rylan will headline this year’s Cliffs Pavilion pantomime, Jack and the Beanstalk, in the role of the Spirit of the Beans from Saturday 14 December.
Award-winning television presenter, radio DJ, podcaster and number one bestselling author Rylan caught our attention as an X Factor and Celebrity Big Brother favourite. Since then he’s carved out a successful career as one of the UK’s most loved broadcasters known for hosting Eurovision, This Morning, Celebrity Goggle Box, Homophobia, Football & Me, BBC Radio 2’s Rylan on Saturday and the highly anticipated Rob and Rylan’s Grand Tour coming later this year to the BBC.
Rylan said: “I know it’s only February but I’m already buzzing for panto as I get involved in Southend’s Jack and the Beanstalk this Christmas, especially having seen my mate Rob Rinder perform there last year. It’s a role I’ll be channelling my inner-Olivia Colman for as we bring all the fun, laughs and drama to The Cliffs Pavilion. See you there!”
As Spirit of the Beans, Rylan will be on hand to bring the necessary magic to help Jack defeat the evil Giant Blunderbore in this magical pantomime for all the family.
Michael Harrison, Chief Executive of Crossroads Pantomimes said: “I’m delighted that Rylan has agreed to join us in his home county of Essex at the Cliffs Pavilion. The nation adores Rylan both as a broadcaster and personality, and I know that he’s going to be absolutely sensational in Jack and The Beanstalk.”
Nick Parr, Theatre Director at Southend Theatres said:
“Once again, Michael and the team at Crossroads Pantomimes will be bringing panto magic to the Cliffs this December and we are all delighted that Rylan has agreed to join us in Southend-on-Sea this year. Pantomime at the Cliffs is always the highlight of our year, and we can’t wait to bring this stunning production to our stage.”
Doomed to sell his trusty cow, join Jack’s fight to outwit the evil giant and win riches beyond his wildest dreams. Featuring laughs, music, special effects and bundles of audience participation, this is the panto you’ve bean waiting for!
Jack and the Beanstalk will play at The Cliffs Pavilion, Southend, from Saturday 14 December 2024 to Sunday 5 January 2025. Tickets are available from www.thecliffspavilion.co.uk
