Southend Roadmap to Recovery Briefing taking place March 30
Southend-on-Sea Borough Council is hosting a live online briefing for businesses on the 30 March.
Following the government’s announcement of the Roadmap out of Lockdown, the council have been working to ensure that the borough will be ready and safe for re-opening from 12 April 2021. To help businesses, voluntary/community organisations and event organisers prepare for reopening in COVID safe way, the briefing will host an expert panel of public health, community and public safety specialists. The event will address:
- The council's economic recovery priorities, presented by a Senior Officer at the council
- The key public health messages, with Krishna Ramkhelawon, Director of Public Health
- The latest regulatory information and expectations on community safety, with Carl Robinson, Director of Public Protection
Following this, there will be an opportunity for attendees to ask questions.
Recovery from the economic crisis which has come about as a result of the pandemic is, unsurprisingly, a key council priority. A working group, consisting of employees from the council and relevant partner organisations such as Job Centre Plus and The Citizen’s Advice Service, has been created and is working collaboratively on ways for our borough to come out of the economic predicament that has been caused by COVID-19. The group is keen to hear the wider community’s ideas for improving our economic prospects in the wake of the pandemic and it is hoped this event will generate input from people in the local business community.
Cllr Kevin Robinson, cabinet member for business, culture and tourism said:
“This online event is an opportunity for businesses, community groups and other organisations to hear from senior officers at the council about ideas for economic recovery across the borough. We are also keen to hear the wider community’s ideas for improving our economic prospects in the wake of the pandemic, so if you can attend, please register and come along.”
The briefing takes place on Tuesday 30 March between 3:00pm and 4:00pm. Please register to attend here: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/southend-roadmap-to-recovery-briefing-tickets-145833723593
