The Grand still at a stand still

The Owner of one of Leigh's most iconic building's The Grand, has expressed his concerns of further deterioration to the premises.

Mick Norcross submitted plans to Southend Council some 13 weeks ago, but fears progress has stalled with them yet to appear on an agenda for members of the development and control committee to discuss. 

The plans, which will see the historic building transformed into 19 self contained flats, a restaurant, wine bar and health club has already been backed by Leigh Town Council. 

Southend Borough Council have assured Mr Norcross that the are progressing with his plans as quickly as possible.
