Thorpe Hall School partners with Dukes Plus to provide free university applications advice to all local families

Thorpe Hall School are the first school in Essex to become a partner school of Dukes Plus – a specialised consultancy service offering university preparation and application advice.
As part of this partnership, the school is offering a free Parent Information Evening for all families in the local area. The event, taking place on Thurs 25th April, will provide parents and families with an in-depth understanding of the university application process.
The Parents’ Information Evening is tailored specifically to address parents'; questions and concerns about the university application process, as well as highlight what makes an application stand out, and how parents can support their child in the years leading up to university to pave the way for success.
With a focus on the unique requirements of both the UK and US systems, these sessions equip parents with the knowledge needed to guide their children through these critical milestones.
The session also features expert-led presentations on applying to Oxford and Cambridge as well as leading US universities.
The evening is an invaluable resource for families navigating the complexities of higher education applications.
Deb D’Auria, Head of Careers at Thorpe Hall School, has been partnering with Dukes Plus to provide a bespoke, elite careers programme for Thorpe Hall School’s own Senior students, but aims to raise the aspirations of children across the city by inviting other local schools and families to this invaluable free parent information.
She says,
“I am the child of an immigrant and a Southender born and bred. Hence, I am keen to raise aspiration for national and international academic achievement across the whole city. I was the first person in my family to go to university, after the opportunities I had here growing up and I want to inspire the young people of today to do the same. Dukes offer guidance as well as lots of free resources and seminars to help everyone fulfil their potential. It can be so confusing for parents to know how to support their children, and this session will be so useful to so many families”
You can find out more on the news story on Thorpe Hall School’s website, or on their social media pages.
