Free parking after 6pm returns to seafront
Signage has been amended to reflect the changes in zone 1A with charges now only applicable from 8am to 6pm, rather than the previous 8am to 9pm. This brings the hours of charging in zone 1A back in line with the other parking zones across the City.
Council consults on boosting its traffic enforcement powers
Southend-on-Sea City Council has launched a six-week consultation on moving traffic enforcement for issues like stopping in yellow box junctions when the exit is not clear, making banned turns, and driving on routes for buses, taxis and bicycles only.
