Leigh Farmers' Market
Farmers’ Markets are now an established way of people to buy food products from farmers or producers as freshly as possible, cutting out the ‘middleman’. These markets now cover the whole country and have grown considerably in this part of Essex. Leigh, however, had the first Farmers’ Market in this area and we think it is still the best, being small and friendly, but maintaining a wide range of products for all.
Regular stallholders at the Leigh market are:
Wildfields Farm from Tolleshunt D’Arcy, who have a wide range of quality assured vegetables in season.
Highfiend Farm from Althorne, Bring beef joints, steaks, mince etc. From their own rare breeds cows, plus free range eggs.
Up in Smoke from Wickford, Carol Carnaby brings a range of smoked fish products.
Ann Cushion from Leigh, Brings runny honey from her local hives.
Hilltop Farm in Benfleet, Maureen Perkins brings apples and pears during the late summer and autumn, and soft fruit and plums during the summer.
Rhyne Park Farm from Bures, Bring Pork and bacon from their Gloucester old Spots, Saddlesbacks and Large Blacks, as well as a selection of lamb products from our previous supplier Layer Marney Farm.
Amanda Thomas from Billericay, Brings a varied selection of artisan cheese.
Liz Smith, a supplier of large range of garden plants.
Hill Holme Juice from Great Totham, Have a range of bottled apple juice and also appeals blended with other fruits.
The Samosa Shack, Bring high quality samosas produced in Shoebury.
The Chilli Chutney Man, Has a range of high quality chutneys and sauces with chillies, made in Leigh-On-Sea.
Elixirs of Life from Canvey, Supplies healthy skin products made from natural sources.
Le Moulin Bakery from Hornchurch, Makes and sells a wide variety of the very best bread, with varieties to suit every palate.
