Southend Operatic Society link up with Easyjet!
Buona Sera, Amici!
On Friday 8th February, Southend Operatic Society will be helping EasyJet and Southend Airport celebrate the launch of flights to Venice by recreating the Italian city's Grand Canal in the airport terminal - complete with gondola, opera singing, pizza and ice-cream!
Southend Operatic Society will be performing a selection of songs from Gilbert and Sullivan’s The Gondoliers as well as Italian love-songs and arias between 2.00pm and 4.00pm in advance of the inaugural flight which takes off for Venice at 4.30pm.
The new service, which departs on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, gives travellers an easy and affordable way of visiting one of the world’s most romantic and picturesque cities - and just in time for Valentine’s Day.
Members of the public are warmly welcome to pop in to this event at any time during the afternoon and sample the flavours of Venice - both gastronomic and musical!
Southend Operatic Society will also be promoting their next production, Summer Holiday, to be presented at the Cliffs Pavilion from 10th to 13th April.
Arrivederci!
