London’s brightest new folk singer Lucy Cait has a gift for both the haunting and quietly exuberant. Beginning and ending with the sounds of London’s trains, Lucy Cait’s debut EP, Gabriel’s Wharf, is a journey through the heart of London. Cait sounds like the progeny of Bon Iver and Laura Marling, able to infuse minimalist folk music with great emotion and a sense of grandeur.
